If you are a club swimmer or want to enter competitions then you are in the right place. This section supports the Competitive programme of Swimfit. Here you will find a range of advice, guidance and videos to help sculpt you into a winner.

So, what is the Competitive programme?

Well, if you have your eye on winning competitions then this is your programme. The Competitive programme is for people seeking to compete or wanting gym style pool sessions to supplement training to fine tune performance.

You may have seen the Swimfit boards at your local swimming pool. This section of the website supplements the poolside Competitive programme as well as Competitive in MySwimfit. Simply register for free with MySwimfit and you will be able to access our online session cards (see an example right).

A little more detail please

Competitive is a programme in four phases where you work through 32 carefully devised sessions that increase in intensity, pushing you towards Gold.

You will need to be comfortable swimming at least three of the four strokes but should consider adding your fourth. There is plenty of improver and advanced guidance and advice in this section of the website to help you.

Throughout Swimfit, intensity of exercise is an important factor in helping you to achieve your goals. Each session card has four sections delivering an overall intensity rating of one to five, where five is the limit. The Competitive programme asks you to operate at levels four and five, with demands such as completing 2,500 metres in under an hour.

Enjoy the programme.
