Take on the challenge of an Open Water swim!
So you’ve completed your training in the pool and you’re ready to take on an open water swim. Well the good news is there’s so many to choose from - new open water swims and triathlons are cropping up every year.
If you're dipping your toes in the world of open water swimming for the first time, your best bet is to contact your nearest triathlon or swimming club who can point you in the direction of group activities.
If it's a mass participation event you're interested in, Swimfit partners British Gas and Speedo both run their own Open Water series which are very-well organised and an excellent place to start your open water adventure.
It's not too late to apply to compete in some of them, so here's a brief outline of what to expect at each one!

- One mile course set against the magnificent London skyline with views of Canary Wharf and the London Docklands area.

Location: Dorney Lake, Eton
- Races over 750m, 1500m, 3km and 10km at the iconic Dorney Lake - the venue for the 2012 Olympic Games rowing event.

Location: Dorney Lake, Eton
- The newest edition to the Speedo Open Water Series is a women-only event at Dorney Lake in Eton with races over 750m, 1500m and 3km.

stephen from dunfermlinetheres plenty of water here in scotland and they only choose Strathclyde Loch a bit out of the way if you not in glasgow
