Diving schedule is confirmed for Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games

There will be aquatics action on every day of the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games.

The daily sports schedule for the competition has been unveiled by competition organisers with six days of swimming followed by five days of diving.

Birmingham 2022’s opening ceremony will take place on Thursday 28 July, with swimming at the Sandwell Aquatics Centre beginning the following day until Wednesday 3 August.

The diving competition starts on Tuesday 4 August with the final medals being won on Monday 8 August – the last day of the Games.

Alexei Evangulov has been named as the diving leader for Team England.

Ian Reid, Birmingham 2022’s Chief Executive Officer, said: “We’re extremely excited to be unveiling the daily schedule as we know that this will make the Games much more real for everyone, now that they can see exactly which sports will be taking place on each day.

“I’d like to thank all of the international and national governing bodies who have been working closely with us to ensure that we created an exciting schedule which also provides all competitors with the maximum period of recovery possible during what will be an action packed summer of sport in 2022.”

David Grevemberg, the Commonwealth Games Federation’s CEO, said: “My message to Commonwealth Sport fans around the globe is simple: Get Excited!
