Kat Torrance wins 3m bronze at 2016 World Juniors in Kazan

Katherine Torrance scooped her third medal of the World Junior Diving Championships 2016 with bronze in the 3m Springboard.

The 18-year old City of Leeds diver scored 433.65 in the final to join China’s Chen Huiling (445.00) and Mexico’s Melany Hernandez (441.75) on the podium.

Torrance had already landed double gold at the Championships in Kazan, Russia.

She helped the Brits to victory in the Team Event on the opening day of competition before securing individual honours in the 1m Springboard.

Torrance recovers from second round blunder

It looked as though the teenager would have a mountain to climb in the final, after a dropped dive in the second round.

But Torrance, who made her senior European Championship debut earlier this year, showed a cool head to battle back with 64.40 for her reverse 2 ½ somersaults with tuck (305C) and 63.00 for her back 2 ½ somersaults with tuck (205C).

City of Sheffield’s Millie Fowler was also in action in the 3m final, finishing sixth on 414.65.
