They're back! Swim England's popular Lockdown Live sessions are set to return

Swim England’s award-winning Live @ Five sessions are once again being opened up to the wider diving community.

Known as Lockdown Live, the popular online workouts are exactly the same as the Live @ Five ones staged for athletes on the Swim England Diving Talent Pathway.

The Lockdown Live sessions will be run daily, Monday to Thursday, beginning next week on January 18. They will be held over Zoom at 6 pm each day and run for a total of five weeks.

Sessions will once again be centred around yoga, ballet and overall conditioning – and will be hosted by Olympic medallist Leon Taylor and Swim England’s Josh Devine, as well as England Talent and British Diving coaches.

Suzie Collins, Swim England Diving Talent Officer, said: “We are thrilled to be rolling out the Lockdown Live sessions again for our Swim England members.

“It’s paramount that we keep all divers engaged during times when they can’t be in the water and these sessions have proved to be hugely popular.

“We also want as many members of the diving community to engage with the Lockdown Live sessions again as they did in the second national lockdown in November.

“The reaction we had to the sessions in November was extremely positive and it’s fantastic we can keep everyone involved in our sport motivated during these challenging times.”

Live @ Five was initially introduced to help ensure talent athletes stayed engaged, motivated, and fit throughout the first national lockdown.

They have been such a success that they won the Virtual Event of the Year at the British Swimming Awards in December – and were then transformed into Lockdown Live for the wider diving community.

The latest sessions will focus on building strength and flexibility, good posture, control, range of movement, and developing explosive power.

Places can be booked by visiting the Swim England shop.
