
Arthur lowers the British record in Masters National Champs opening session
October 29, 2021Birmingham Masters swimmer Arthur Lowe set a new British record in the opening session of the Swim England National Masters Championships 2021.
The 86-year-old swam a time of 31:56.02 in the Men’s 85+ 1500m Freestyle event, making it the first record-breaking swim of the competition.
The previous record, which was set back in 2017, was a time of 32:49.92.
After beating the record by 53.9 seconds, Lowe will compete in the Men’s 85+ 50m Backstroke in session two.
