Trafford Metro lead the charge as records continue to fall on day three
October 26, 2025Day three, session one of the Masters National Championships once again underlined the huge amount of talent and determination that the swimmers brought to this event from across the country.
The morning session opened in spectacular fashion with the Mixed 4x100m Medley Team events, where Trafford Metro and Woking each broke European records in their respective age categories, while Basingstoke added a British record performance to the tally.
The excitement continued through the afternoon session with a series of lightning-fast swims. A highlight came in the Men’s 4x50m Freestyle (100+ Years), where Okehampton produced a sensational performance to claim another world record.
Not to be outdone, the Women’s 4x50m Freestyle (280+ Years) team from B C & P Masters also etched their names into the record books with a world record swim.
In the individual events, Helen Sadler of Trafford Metro delivered a world-class sprint to set a world record in the Women’s 55–59 50m Freestyle, adding yet another highlight to a stunning morning of racing.
Capping off the day’s achievements, Arthur Lowe, the oldest swimmer in the competition, competed in the 90–94 age group and set a new British record in the 50m Freestyle event, earning admiration from across the pool deck for his dedication in the sport.
With European, British, and World records all rewritten on in the morning session of day three, the championships continue to exemplify the power of Masters swimming, with just one more session to go.
