Christopher Knight knocks more than 20 seconds off GB record at Masters Nationals

Trafford Metro swimmer Christopher Knight set a new British record in the opening session of this year’s Swim England Masters National Championships.

The 31-year-old lowered the previous record by more than 20 seconds in the Men’s 30-34 Years 1500m Freestyle.

Before Knight’s record-breaking swim of 16:10.04, the record stood at 16:33.66 and was set by his Trafford Metro teammate, Daniel Mills, in February 2022.

Although the record has changed hands within Trafford Metro, Mills was also able to lower his personal best to clock in at 16:29.49.
