Registration opens for the FINA World Masters Championships 2019January 25, 2019
Registrations have opened for the 18th FINA World Masters Championships 2019.
The event is taking place in Gwangju, Korea, between 5 and 18 August with the programme including swimming, open water swimming, diving, water polo and artistic swimming.
And although the closing date for entries is Monday 24 June, athletes are advised to submit their applications sooner rather than later to avoid the disappointment of potentially missing out on a place.
A spokesperson for the event organisers said: “Due to the high number of entries expected, the entry process of the different events can be closed anytime by FINA if necessary to ensure a safe and high-quality competition.
“Therefore, we strongly advise people to register as soon as possible in order to guarantee their participation.
“The registration for the FINA World Masters Championships is individual.
How to enter the championships
“All registrations must be done by the FINA General Management System Public Portal.
“If you participated at the FINA World Masters Championships in Kazan (2015) or Budapest (2017), you can access the FINA GMS using your existing username and password created for the previous championships.
“However, if it is the first time participating, you must create your own account.”
The deadline for registrations is 11.59pm on Monday 24 June. Entrants are advised that:
- All persons willing to participate must be duly registered and have paid their registration fee and events fee by 24 June 2019. The unpaid registrations will not be considered.
- No registrations will be accepted after 24 June 2019
- No changes or additions to Individual or Team event entries will be accepted after 24 June 2019
