About the National Summer MeetFebruary 1, 2018
The National Summer Meet is Swim England’s biggest domestic swimming event of the year.
The Summer Meet forms part of a swimming competition structure in Great Britain whereby the top ranked swimmers in each event are invited to compete at the British Swimming Summer Championships.
National Summer Meet 2018
- When: 31 July – 4 August 2018
- Where: Ponds Forge, Sheffield
- Who: Swimmers ranked 21 – 39 (or 21 – 35 for 800m & 1500m Freestyle) in their respective age group.
- Tickets: Adult prices from £5.00 – head to swimmingresults.org for a 10% discount.
The next ranked swimmers at Swim England affiliated clubs – or those who have chosen to be ranked as an English swimmer – are invited to compete at the Nationals.
The rankings are on swimmers’ performances at level 1 meets between a qualification window, typically between March and May of the same calendar year. Click here to view the latest English rankings.

What can I expect from the National Summer Meet?
We call the National Summer Meet our biggest event for good reason! Thousands of swimmers compete over the six-day meet with events held for five different age groups as well as para-swimmers.
The boys’ age groups are 13/14 Yrs, 15 Yrs, 16 Yrs, 17 Yrs and 18 Yrs / Over while the girls’ age groups are 12/13 Yrs, 14 Yrs, 15 Yrs, 16 Yrs and 17 Yrs / Over.
Competitions are held across the full range of Olympic swimming events, as well as 50m for breaststroke, backstroke and butterfly. A range of multi-classification events are also held.
