Dean Walker honoured to be named U19 Men's England head coach

Dean Walker has said he is honoured to have been named as the England U19 Junior Men’s head coach.

Walker, a lead coach at New Hall School, has coached within the National Academy set-up since 2013.

He has spoken of his pride at being picked to lead the national team, saying: “I am honoured to be chosen as the Head Coach of the u19 Junior Men’s team.

“I know a number of players who would be in contention for places within the squad. There is a good level of talent which is testament to the hard work of coaches in clubs, regions and the National Academy.

Ready to lead

“I’m looking forward to working with the players, their parents and coaches as we build towards international events.”

Norman Leighton, Swim England Water Polo Talent officer, welcomed the appointment.

He said: “Dean has demonstrated his commitment to our national programme over a number of years and, in that time, has gained and refined his skills and is now ready to lead.

“I’m delighted for him.”
