Records keep falling as Masters National Championships continue
October 25, 2025Day two, Session one of the Swim England Masters National Championships delivered a spectacular showcase of elite performances, with multiple records rewritten across the pool.
Okehampton once again led the charge with two world records, first in the Mixed 4x100m Freestyle Relay (120+ Years), where they stormed to victory in 3:33.46, and again in the Open/Male 4x50m Medley Relay (100+ Years), clocking 1:37.79.
Repton’s Imogen Clark added to the world record tally with a blistering 29.96 in the Female 50m Breaststroke (25–29 Years).
European records were also toppled. Matthew Henry of Okehampton set a new mark in the Open/Male 200m Freestyle (35–39 Years) with a time of 1:50.71, while Sophie Casson of Carnforth broke the European record in the Female 200m Freestyle (40–44 Years) with 2:05.36.
Sally Winter of Bishop Stortford joined the record-setters with a 2:31.87 finish in the Female 200m Freestyle (65–69 Years).
Trafford Metro added to the haul with a European record of 1:42.02 in the Open/Male 4x50m Medley Relay (120+ Years) and B C & P Mast’s Female 280+ Years team broke the European record in the same event.
Seven British records were also crushed to add to the record-breaking morning at Ponds Forge.
