East Leeds claim both Pickering trophies at Yorkshire Masters Champs

East Leeds Masters Swimming Club claimed the Pickering trophies for both top female and top male swimmer of the meet at the 2015 Yorkshire Masters Champs in Leeds.

Karen Graham was awarded the women’s trophy after four golds and two silvers in the 50-54 Yrs age group.

Meanwhile, Richard Jagger claimed four golds and three silvers in the 25-29 Yrs age group to be crowned top male swimmer.

There were also four British short course records broken at the John Charles Centre for Sport.

David Emerson sets pair of British records

East Leeds’ national short course champion David Emerson was on form in the butterfly events, lowering his own British marker in the 50m Fly with a 27.07 swim and adding the British record over 100m Fly in 1:01.56, taking more than a second off the old record of 1:03.05.

Borough of Kirklees’ world champion Sally Shields beat her own British record to claim the 60-64 Yrs 50m Breaststroke title in 40.08 while East Leeds’ national champion Paul Clemence clocked a new British 45-40 Yrs 50m Freestyle marker of 23.89, swum in the first two lengths of his 200m Free race.
