London 2016 Masters champs are coming

The London 2016 Masters champs kick off next week, with the European Masters swimming championships starting on Wednesday 25 May at the iconic London Aquatics Centre.

The London 2012 Olympic venue in the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park will play host to competitors from 48 nations, battling it out for European titles.

As with many high profile Masters events, we expect there to be world, European and British records broken, and plenty of British athletes making their way into podium positions.

The ASA will be helping to celebrate the successes of our Masters swimmers with daily reports from the previous evening’s finals and sharing content across all our channels.

If you can’t make it to the the London 2016 Masters champs, you can watch the live stream.

Keep an eye on our Facebook and Twitter accounts starting 25 May, and on the ASA Masters Hub for our reports.

To make sure that we are helping you to celebrate your achievements as much as possible, we have created some template press releases for you to send out to your local media. Here is a template release for individuals, and a template release for clubs, that you can modify and send out to help make lots of noise about your performances at the championships.

You can also help us to support and celebrate with you as much as possible by letting us know how you are getting on. You can tweet us, send us messages on Facebook or email us with your pictures.

If you are new to Masters, then there is plenty to get involved in over the course of the event. Some of the GB Masters have organised a social event which will offer the chance to meet some new people. You can also have any questions answered by some of the veteran Masters swimmers.
