Trafford Metro take home Otter 150 Cup trophy for a fourth consecutive time
October 26, 2025Day Three, session two of the Swim England Masters National Championships brought a fitting conclusion to a weekend packed with world-class performances, as Trafford Metro once again reigned supreme – claiming the prestigious 150 Otter Cup trophy for the fourth consecutive year.
The Manchester-based club continued to demonstrate their remarkable consistency and depth of talent, rounding off the Championships with another set of standout performances. Their latest triumph cements Trafford Metro’s place among the elite of British Masters swimming.
Reflecting on his team’s success, Bob Bolton, the Club’s Chair and Masters’ Coach, spoke proudly of the swimmers’ commitment and unity: “These guys just get better and better every year. They are the most amazing group of swimmers you could possibly have. They exceed all expectations.”
Bolton also praised the club’s togetherness and strong sense of community, which he believes is key to their continued success: “We are a club that train together under one roof, we socialise and compete together as a team.”
And with his sights already set on next year’s Championships, his message was clear: “We are not there to participate – we come to win.”
The final session saw multiple British records set, including ones by Samuel Lawman (East Leeds) in the 50m Backstroke, Ben Harkin (Warrington Masters) in the 100m Breaststroke, and Imogen Clark (Repton) in the women’s 100m Breaststroke, adding to an already impressive list of achievements across the competition.
With another Otter Cup triumph and multiple record-breaking performances, Trafford Metro once again proved that teamwork, determination, and a shared passion for the sport are the true foundations of lasting success in Masters swimming.
