Relay power and individual brilliance mark day two at Masters National Championships

Day Two of the Masters Swimming Championships wrapped up with a thrilling mix of relay and individual events, including the 100m backstroke and 100m individual medley for both female and open/male categories.

Okehampton continued their dominant run in the relays, setting a new world record in the Mixed 4x50m Medley Relay (100+ Years) with a time of 1:43.86. This adds to their impressive tally of relay world records at the meet, after already setting three on the opening day and another earlier today.

Two more world records were set in the 4x100m Female Freestyle relay. Trafford Metro posted a time of 3:54.30 in the 100+ Years category, while B C & P Masters broke the record in the 280+ Years category with a time of 4:59.59.

A European record was also set in the Mixed 4x50m Medley Relay (200+ Years), where City of Sheffield touched in 1:56.92. In the individual events, the Female 100m Backstroke (55–59 Years) saw another European record fall with a time of 1:07.58.

In total, nine British records were broken across the day’s events, spanning both backstroke and individual medley races and covering a wide range of age categories.

With just one day remaining, the championships continue to showcase the depth and talent of masters swimming across the UK and beyond.
