World and British records broken on day four of Speedo British Summer Champs

Both World and British records were shattered in a fantastic finals session on day four of the Speedo British Summer Championships in Sheffield.

The night got off to a record breaking start as Paralympic Champion Tully Kearney set a new S5 world record in the Women’s MC 100m Freestyle.

Kearney set a time of 1:11:71 to break the record and give her a massive 1116 points to earn her the gold medal.

A British record was also broken in the Men’s 100m Freestyle event.

For the 13-14 years group a new British record was set by Mount Kelly’s Abduljabar Adama with a time of 53:47.

It gave him the gold medal by 0.33 ahead of Llewellyn Porter from Camden Swiss.

The seven-day Speedo British Summer Championships runs until Thursday 28 July – here is our roll of honour celebrating all the medal winners from day four.
