Teams all set for action-packed U15s National Age Group Championships

The Swim England Water Polo U15s National Age Group Championships take place this weekend, which will see 26 teams competing at Ponds Forge International Sports Centre in Sheffield.

The boys’ competition will take place on Saturday 17 December, with the girls’ event the following day.

Fifteen boys teams will be in attendance and 11 girls teams as they battle it out to secure national titles.

Last year’s edition of the event saw City of Manchester winning the boys’ competition, with Cheltenham coming out on top in the girls’ event.

Both of those clubs return to the competition this time around as they look to become back-to-back winners this weekend.

The draw has been made

The draw for the weekend’s competition has been made with the schedule of matches available here.

The 15 boys teams competing in this year’s event are:

North London, City of Manchester, Calverton and Bingham, Watford, City of Sheffield, Cheltenham, Beckenham, Sedgefield, West London Penguin, City of Birmingham, Kingston Royals, Caledonia, Worthing, Exeter and City of Chester.

The teams will compete across four groups before going into a play-off stage to decide the seedings for the all-important medal matches.

In the girls’ event, City of Manchester are looking to take all three of the girls’ National Age Group titles after their success at both U17 and U19 level back in May.

They’ve been drawn in Group B alongside current holders Cheltenham, Rotherham, Devonport, Watford and Worthing.

In Group A, City of Liverpool, City of Sheffield, West London Penguin, City of Birmingham and Beckenham will battle it out to book their place in the gold medal match.

The live scoreboards for all results throughout the course of the competition will be available via this link.

The event will also be recorded and available to watch on catch up through the We Play Sport app early next week.

If you want to watch your side in action at poolside, tickets are still available for only £7 per day and can be purchased here.
