Stage set for U14 Inter Regional Championships in Walsall

The 2017 Swim England Inter Regionals reach their conclusion next month with the Girls’ and Boys’ U14 Championships.

The girls’ competition takes place at Walsall Gala Baths on 2 – 3 December while the boys’ event is the following weekend (9 – 10 December), also in Walsall.

South West come into the girls’ event as defending champions and looking to win their second title in this year’s Inter Regionals, having retained the girls’ U18 crown after a dramatic penalty shoot out in the final in February.

The region also gained promotion to Division 1 of the U16s age group in July.

Last year’s bronze medallists East Region take on the East Midlands, South East and North West in Group B.

North West Tigers aiming for third win in four years

North West Tigers will return to try and defend their title in the boys’ event and are top seeds in Group A.

The Tigers have won two of the three stagings of the U14 Championships, claiming the inaugural title in 2014 before reclaiming the crown last time out.

North East Steelers, who won gold in 2015 before losing out in the final in 2016, are seeded second and go in Group B.
