The Complete Swimmer Award Launch
6 September 2013
12 young people have become the first swimmers to attain the exclusive Complete Swimmer Award.
The Complete Swimmer Award rewards those who have achieved all 25 awards on the Learn to Swim Framework, as part of the British Gas ASA Learn to Swim Pathway. The Pathway is the national syllabus to assist and support the delivery of swimming lessons from the ASA.
To celebrate, the ASA, in partnership with Kirklees Active Leisure, is hosting an awards presentation to recognise their fantastic achievement. The young people will be presented with their medals by GB Olympic diver, Nick Robinson-Baker on Sunday 22nd September at The Stadium Fitness Complex in Huddersfield in front of peers and members of the local community. The awards presentation will be followed by a pool party.
The Complete Swimmer Award incorporates Learn to Swim Stages 1-7, Rainbow Distance awards, Rainbow Stroke awards, Preliminary Safety Skills and Personal Survival Level 1 Awards.
Swimmers that go on to complete all 10 awards on the Aquatic Skills Framework can be rewarded with the Elite Swimmer Award. The Elite Swimmer Award incorporates Aquatic Skills Stages 8-10, Rainbow Distance awards, Personal Survival Level 2 and Swimming Challenge Awards.
