The ASA Level 2 Award in Coaching Open Water Swimming allows current ASA Swimming Coaches or Triathlon Coaches to build on their current coaching skills.
By taking the course you acquire specialist knowledge in delivering open water swimming sessions.

Blended Learning is a more flexible approach where you can complete theory elements of the course online through a virtual pool environment and interactive videos prior to the practical workshops.
Who is the course designed for?
The ASA Level 2 Award in Coaching Open Water Swimming is aimed at ASA Swimming Coaches or Triathlon Coaches who want to acquire specialist knowledge delivering open water swimming sessions to a range of participants.
This course gives coaches the skills needed to effectively and independently plan, prepare, deliver, monitor and evaluate a series of Open Water training sessions. On successful completion of this qualification you will understand:
- Principles of Swimming in Open Water
- Safe and effective planning and preparation for open water swimming
- Innovative delivery of open water swimming sessions
The Guided Learning Hours for this course is 50. Approximately 16 hours will be spent on face to delivery and then a further 35 hours (approximately) of online learning and assessment and your lesson planning and evaluations etc.
