2025 GoCardless Swim England National Summer Meet day two medallists

The 2025 Swim England National Summer Meet day two is in the books after it was filled with fierce competition, improved personal bests and lots of highlights!

Before the Finals Session had even begun, we had crowned the first medal winners of the day. The Open/Male 1500m heats saw gold medallists from five different clubs.

Daniel Lawrence from Staines Swimming Club delivered an outstanding performance as he won gold in the 12/13 Yrs 1500m in a time of 17:33.73, and continued his podium streak by coming third in the 12/13 Yrs 200m Butterfly (2:21.20) later in the day.

Jason Li from City of Birmingham also took home two medals today. After securing a silver medal in the 12/13 Yrs 200m Butterfly final (2:20.61), he topped off his evening by winning the 13 Yrs 100 Backstroke (1:05.43).

The 200m Butterfly continued with back-to-back gold medals for Newcastle. Matthew Scott won the event in the 16 Yrs in an time of 2:09.87 and was followed to success by his teammate Jamie Beach who won the 17 Yrs final (2:10.04).

In the Female 200m Backstroke finals, Lucy Block from Surrey University was the only swimmer to go under the 2:20 mark, in a time of 2:19.75. She won the 18/Over category ahead of Jessica Humm (Rushmoor Royals Swimming Club; 2:21.17) and Niamh James (Bishop’s Stortford Swimming Club; 2:22.23).

The two most successful clubs on day two were Basildon & Phoenix Swimming Club with three gold medals and three silvers and Northumberland and Durham Performance Pathway Swimming Club with three gold and two bronze medals.

A set of 50m Finals for female, open/male and para-athletes ended the 2025 Swim England National Summer Meet day two.
