City of Derby's Finley sets new PB on way to gold at British Summer Championships
July 28, 2019City of Derby’s Finley Bunhejee knocked more than five-and-a-half seconds off his personal best as he powered his way to a gold medal in a thrilling race at the British Summer Championships.
Bunhejee clocked 2:14.26 to win the 13-14 Years 200m Individual Medley by the narrow margin of 0.02 seconds from East Lothian’s Stefan Krawiec.
Only 0.72 separated the top three with City of Liverpool’s Vadim Bosc taking the bronze in 2:14.98.
Bunhejee’s previous best was 2:19.86 he recorded at the Swim England East Midlands Regional Champs in Sheffield earlier this year.
It proved to be another exciting night at the Tollcross International Sports Centre with several personal bests shattered.
Day five also saw Loughborough University triumph in both the men’s and women’s 400m Freestyle 17 Years and Over relays.
