Swimming News

The entry process for the 2019 British and home nations summer meets has been confirmed, after the qualifying window closed on 27 May.

British Swimming have confirmed that at the start of the week commencing 3 June, invitations will be sent out for the British Summer Championships 2019, based on qualifying performances.

The full invitation list will also be available on the Swimming Results website for everyone to view.

This year, British Swimming have introduced a short period during which these invitations must be accepted.

The closing date to accept these initial invitations is 1700 on 14 June.

Entries will then reopen for the British Summer Championships on 16 June, with everyone who was invited but not entered removed, and a new list will be calculated, with places offered to the next eligible ranked swimmer.

Entries will open for the Swim England National Summer Meet – and other home nations meets – on 17 June, which will allow for any changes made to the British Summer Championships.

British Swimming say the new system should help to ensure that as many swimmers as possible can compete at the British Summer Championships.

The Swim England National Summer Meet will take place at Ponds Forge, Sheffield from 31 July – 4 August.
