Swim England statement on downgrading of Level 1 meets in South East Region

The Swim England Swimming Leadership Group was recently made aware of the downgrading of two Level 1 meets in the South East Region that fell within the national qualifying window.

Having reviewed the evidence, the Swim England South East Region Licensing Panel were correct in their judgement that some of the licensing conditions had not been met.

Swim England is aware that athletes entered the meets with the intention of posting times that may qualify them for the summer national meets.

The decision has been taken to reinstate the meets at Level 1.

Please bear with us while we reinstate the times as Level 1 times in rankings.

Following the closure of the national qualifying window, Swim England will be opening up further dialogue with the organising clubs to better understand how the issues arose and to best ensure that they do not happen again.
