Team England support staff confirmed for 2026 Commonwealth Games

Swim England is proud to announce the support staff team that will be nominated as part of the swimming team and as part of Team England at the Commonwealth Games 2026 in Glasgow.

As preparations continue for the Games, this experienced and highly skilled group of leaders, practitioners and performance specialists will play a vital role in supporting swimmers and para-swimmers on their journey to Glasgow and throughout the competition period.

The team brings together expertise across leadership, coaching, performance operations, sport science, strength and conditioning, medical services, nutrition and performance analysis, ensuring athletes receive the best possible support both in and out of the pool. This integrated approach reflects Swim England’s commitment to building a high-performance environment where athletes can thrive on the sport’s biggest stages.

Following the earlier announcement of Andi Manley as Head Coach, the wider leadership and delivery structure is now in place to support Team England’s campaign. Operational leadership will be led by Rod Wardle as Lead Team Manager, providing coordination across the team environment, while Dan Waddingham, as Lead SSSM & S&C, will drive the delivery of athlete preparation, physical performance, recovery and conditioning programmes throughout the build-up and during the Games.

The inclusion of specialist support across strength and conditioning, sport science, medical services and nutrition ensures athletes will benefit from an athlete-centred support system in preparation of and throughout the Games.

The Commonwealth Games 2026 will kick off in Glasgow with the opening ceremony on Thursday 23 July and will run through until Monday 2 August, offering a great opportunity for Team England athletes to compete against the best across the Commonwealth.
