Go Swimming has everything you need to know about swimming. If you are a parent, a non swimmer or just want to improve your technique this is the section for you.

In British Swimming you will find information about the world of high performance sport, including the disciplines of Swimming, Diving, Synchronised Swimming, Water Polo and Para-Swimming.

The ASA is the governing body for the sport in England. In this section you will find all you need to know about joining a club or competing in England and becoming a swimming teacher or coach.

The IoS delivers the ASA’s courses and is a member organisation. Whether you are a teacher, coach, employer or club you will find everything you need to know about qualifications or educating your workforce.

Ambassadors confirmed for SwimBritain ‘Have a Go’ sessions

British Gas SwimBritain ‘Have a Go’ sessions are free taster sessions ready for the team relay events in September. 

Whether you are already signed up and want to get a bit of practice in, or you are still undecided and want to see what it’s all about, the ‘Have a Go’ sessions are ideal for getting a taste of what is to come later in the year.

SwimBritain relays are run in conjunction with the ASA and offer a fun filled day which is suitable for both adults and children over 8 years old.

Register your interest to 'Have a Go' hereThere are four pools taking part in these taster sessions across the country to give as many people the chance to take the plunge, each pool has an Ambassador who will turn up on the day to offer tips, guidance and support.

The ‘Have a Go’ sessions ambassadors are specific to each event; below is a breakdown of each location, date and the ambassadors who will be there on the day.

  • 8th June – Mountbatten Leisure Centre, Portsmouth (Duncan Goodhew)
  • 22nd June – Hengrove Park, Bristol (Duncan Goodhew)
  • 29th June – Ponds Forge, Sheffield (Grant Turner)
  • 13th July – Mountbatten Leisure Centre, Portsmouth (Unconfirmed)
  • 20th July – Hengrove Park, Bristol (Kate Haywood)

Not only will you get a chance to swim with the stars, but as the event is open to swimmers of all abilities, you will also receive training on how to improve your swimming technique.
