Adam Peaty lands Euro Meet title at first meet of 2018

Adam Peaty swept to 100m Breaststroke gold at his first long course meet of the 2018 season.

Competing at the Euro Meet in Luxembourg, the Olympic champion stopped the clock on 59.62 to add to his victory in yesterday’s 50m Breast.

Peaty will hope to defend his Commonwealth title for Team England later this year at the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games.

James Guy also won his second gold of the meet, taking the touch in the 100m Butterfly.

The double Olympic medallist had already lifted the 200m Freestyle title in Luxembourg, as well as winning 200m Butterfly bronze on day two.

And he reached the podium for the third time with a 52.31 effort in the 100m Fly final – 0.2 seconds ahead of Olympic silver medallist Laszlo Cseh.

Aimee Willmott wins 200m Individual Medley gold

Aimee Willmott collected a third gold for the English contingent in Luxembourg as she emerged victorious from a battle in the 200m Individual Medley.

Having finished second to British teammate but Commonwealth rival, Scotland’s Hannah Miley, in the 400m IM, Willmott was able to reverse the form over half the distance.

The English swimmer collected gold on 2:13.24 while Miley touched for silver on 2:14.21.

Chris Walker-Hebborn was the only other English swimmer to reach a podium on day three in Luxembourg.

Having won silver in yesterday’s 100m Backstroke, the Olympic relay medallist added 50m Back bronze in 25.80.
