Swim England release 2023 County Team Championships date and venue

Swim England can confirm that the 2023 National County Team Championships will take place at Ponds Forge International Pool in Sheffield on 8 October.

The event is one of the most anticipated on the calendar and kicks off the start to the short course season.

Face paint, flags and shields will be at the ready as counties from all across the UK bid for the national title.

More than 800 swimmers will descend on Sheffield’s Ponds Forge to compete across two divisions throughout the day.

There will be 20 counties in division one and up to 20 more in division two.

At the end of the competition, the bottom four teams from Division 1 are relegated to Division 2 for next year’s event. The top four from Division 2 replacing them in the top flight.

Derbyshire became champions of Division two to secure their immediate return to the top flight where they’ll be joined by Sussex, Hampshire and Warwickshire who also secured promotion for 2023.

The competition follows a packed summer of swimming action which includes the Swim England National Summer Meet which will also be held at Ponds Forge.

Further event information, including the conditions and entry pack, will be published here later on in the year.
