Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games day five heats live blog
August 2, 2022It’s the penultimate day of the swimming action at the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games – but there is plenty of action to come.
This morning’s session sees 12 Team England swimmers taking part in heat races – plus the Mixed Medley Relay team of Alicia Wilson, Greg Butler, Ed Mildred and Abbie Wood are also in action.
Live from the Sandwell Aquatics Centre will be the Men’s 200m Backstroke, the Women’s 200m Butterfly, the ‘splash and dash’ Men’s 50m Freestyle, the Women’s 50m Backstroke, the Mixed 4x100m Medley Relay and the Men’s 1500m Freestyle heats.
Team England have won 18 medals in the pool so far, four gold, 11 silver and three bronze.
They sit third in the table behind Australia and New Zealand but second in terms of total medals won.
