Swim England London Awards

Swim England London holds an annual awards ceremony to celebrate the achievements of its members. Since 2019 these regional awards now form part of the overall Swim England National Awards with regional recipients being put forward for the national equivalent.

Alongside these awards Swim England London also presents the following three awards;

Jeff Cook SalverJeff Cook Salver

The Jeff Cook Salver is awarded to the winner of the Volunteer of the Year. This award recognises an individual who has a sustained commitment to the delivery of aquatics and has regularly gone above and beyond their role.

The Dave Barnes TrophyThe Dave Barnes Trophy

The Dave Barnes Trophy is awarded to the winner of the Swim England Technical Official of the Year. This award recognises a Swim England member whose contribution is seen as invaluable and their efforts are instrumental in the work to support the delivery of aquatic sport.

Flo Barnes TrophyFlo Barnes Trophy

The Flo Barnes Trophy is awarded to the winner of the Swim England Young Volunteer of the year. This award recognises a Swim England member who, at a young age, has shown commitment to volunteering at their club, county, region or nationally. Their volunteering is making a positive impact and this volunteer is a great example of a role model for others.

The Swim England London awards winners for 2025 were;

Winner of the Jeff Cook Salver & Volunteer of the Year

Ian Grimwood (West London Penguin Swimming & Water Polo Club)

This award recognises a Swim England member whose contribution is seen as invaluable and their efforts are instrumental in the work to support the delivery of aquatic sport.

 

Young Volunteer of the Year and winner of the Flo Barnes Trophy

Riaz Garnie (West London Penguin).

Artistic Swimming Club of the Year

Aquavision.

Swimming Club of the Year

Water Polo Club of the Year

Technical Official of the Year and winner of the Dave Barnes Trophy
Marc Barrot (Camden Swiss Cottage SC).

 

Children/Age Group Coach of the Year
Duncan MacLaurin (Hornchurch Swimming Club).

 

Talent Development Coach of the Year
Lucy Sefton (Dive London Aquatics Club).

 

Long Service Pins

Gold (for 15 years’ service)
Silver (for 10 years’ service)
Bronze (for 5 years’ service)

The Pins can be awarded for continuous service to Swim England London since 2005.

Nominations can be made by the Swim England London Board Members and Discipline Committee Chairman.

The recipients must have worked for the Region for the required number of years in each of the categories. They may be Secretaries/Managers, Committee members, officials or poolside helpers. (Technical and Non-Technical)

Awards will be made each year during the presentation of the Regional Awards.
