Open Water Technical Officials Course

There are still spaces available on the pilot version of the new Open Water Technical Officials Course on Saturday 30th April, on Zoom from 10:00 until 13:30.

We are looking for people with no prior Open Water officiating qualifications – it is open to anyone with officiating qualifications in another discipline but ideally we are looking for those who will go on to be active Open Water officials, and not just those who want to have a look at the new course.

It is anticipated that Swim England will run further courses based on demand and will also be running courses to upskill existing Level 1 officials to the new qualification.

Open Water Coaching Courses

The IoS have made some changes to the delivery of the Open Water Coaching course.  The delivery model is three zoom sessions and one day lake session.

Each session covers the following:

• Principles of swimming in open water
• Safe and effective planning and preparation for open water swimming
• Innovative delivery of open water swimming sessions
