Swim England's 'Connecting with Coaches' sessions to become more accessible

Swim England has made changes to the popular ‘Connecting with Coaches’ sessions in an effort to make them more accessible.

Feedback from the Swim England regions has been taken on board and will be reflected in the new format of the sessions, which will now see both performance-level and development level sessions taking place every two months.

The topics of the sessions will alternate between swimming-specific material and generic topics that can be applied to all aquatic disciplines.

The new format has been designed to maintain the delivery of regular sessions whilst also catering for coaches along every section of the performance pathway, from grassroots to elite level.

‘Continuous development of coaches’

Sophie Bucknall, Swim England coach engagement officer, said: “These bespoke workshops are designed to support the continuous development of all aquatic coaches.

“The changes we have made will open these sessions to a wider pool of coaches at county, regional and national levels and ensure that they have access to the informative content delivered within them.”

Development-level sessions will be open to all coaches while performance-level sessions will be delivered to a group of selected coaches.

The content of the sessions in certain months, such as March 2022, will be appropriate for all levels and therefore will be available to any coach who wishes to attend.

Regular updates relating to the sessions can be found on the Swim England Coaching Twitter page.
