Passionate about sport and looking to get your foot in the door?

25 May 2010
If you’re passionate about swimming and are looking to gain some key contacts within the industry we have the opportunity for you.

The ASA are looking to appoint a Young Official Development Officer (YODO), in association with the Youth Sports Trust, to manage and develop opportunities for young people to engage as officials within Aquatics.

It’s an incomparable work experience role that will see you working within sports development and involved in the day-to-day running of a National Governing Body. It will provide opportunities for both professional and personal development which could potentially lead to jobs within sports development, National Governing Bodies or volunteer coordinator roles.

You will work closely with ASA staff, local schools, colleges and clubs to support the training, deployment and development of young people as officials at local, regional and national competitions.

We’re looking for someone to start at the beginning of September for 40 weeks, although this is negotiable, and who is willing to put in about 30 hours per week.

In return you will be given up to £4,000 towards accommodation expenses as well as up to £2,400 for everyday expenses such as food travel and subsistence.

So if you’re looking to get your foot in the door, here is the perfect opportunity.
