Volunteers’ Week – The ASA’s Time to Say Thank You!

6 June 2013

We are now at the end of Volunteers’ Week 2013, and so the ASA would like to thank all of you for your support and engagement over the last week.

Volunteers’ Week has been a great opportunity to raise the profile of aquatic volunteering and recognise the thousands of volunteers who dedicate their time to making the sport happen.

If you haven’t seen the Volunteers' Week celebration film you can still watch the video now at www.swimming.org/asa/volunteering/volunteers-week

We have been thrilled to see lots of you utilising the Volunteer Recognition Pack and awarding Volunteers' Week certificates to deserving individuals, as well as sharing your inspiring stories and pictures.

There was a further opportunity to get involved through daily competitions throughout the week. We hope that they highlighted the importance of volunteering in aquatic sport and encouraged you as clubs to recognise your volunteer workforce. Lucky winners also took away some fantastic prizes including signed British Swimming goodies and tickets to the British Gas Swimming Championships in June.

Volunteers’ Week 2013 has been a huge success and it was fantastic to see so many people getting involved and saying 'Thank You!'  We hope that you will continue the great work you have started - Volunteers' Week has come to an end but our volunteers will continue their hard work.

From everyone here at the ASA -  'Thank You!' for everything you do for aquatics – you really do make the difference.
