Jane Nickerson appointed Swim England CEO

Former national swimmer Jane Nickerson has been appointed Swim England CEO.

The announcement was made on 27 March 2017 and Jane will formally take up the post on 1 April 2017.

Mike Farrar, Swim England Group Board Chairman, said: “I am delighted to announce that Jane Nickerson, our current interim CEO, has been has been confirmed in the role.

“Jane brings a deep knowledge of the Amateur Swimming Association and our sports, which will be crucial as we look towards implementing our new strategy and reforming our governance.”

Jane joined the organisation in 1997 and became Chief Operating Officer in 2009. Since taking on the role as interim CEO in August 2016, Jane has been instrumental in developing the organisation’s four-year strategy. She has secured funding to grow and develop the sports.

Jane said: “I am delighted to be given this opportunity to lead Swim England.

“Having secured Sport England funding to deliver our strategy, we can now move ahead with implementing our programmes to encourage more people to take part in swimming, and support our talented athletes across all our aquatic sports.”

Towards a nation swimming

Jane’s first task will be to launch Towards a Nation Swimming, a strategic plan for swimming in England 2017-21 on 3 April.
