CEO Andy Salmon shares an update on Swim England’s plans for 2026

As Swim England looks ahead to what will be an ambitious and exciting year for the organisation and the aquatics community in 2026, its Chief Executive Andy Salmon has shared a quick update which focuses on the importance of kindness, collaboration and delivering great experiences across all aquatic sports.

With organisational change underway and a refreshed strategy in place, 2026 will see continued improvements to Swim England’s governance, digital services and ways of working — all designed to better support members, clubs and the wider aquatics community. A service-first approach remains central, ensuring athletes, coaches, officials, volunteers and parents feel supported, valued and safe.

The year also brings major opportunities in and out of the water, including the launch of the One Swim England Summit which takes place on 19 March, and a new single swimming teacher qualification.

2026 also promises to be a landmark year on the international stage. The Commonwealth Games will take place in Glasgow from 23 July to 2 August, offering the opportunity for English swimmers and para-swimmers to compete against some of the world’s best athletes.
