Swim England

A nation swimming

Parents hail free My Learn to Swim app as it's downloaded 3,000 times in a week

Parents have hailed Swim England’s new My Learn to Swim app, which has been downloaded more than 3,000 times in the first week.

The free app allows children to scan in their well-earned Learn to Swim certificates and then interact with their favourite characters, including Maisie the marlin and Harry the hermit crab.

It also gives parents the opportunity to discover more about the Swim England Learn to Swim Programme and a better understanding of what their child learns during their lessons.

You can collect and store your child’s swimming achievements in the My Awards section and they can take photos with unlocked characters to share with friends and family.

The popular app has also featured in the trending apps on the Android store and has regularly placed in the top 100 Lifestyle apps on the UK App store since it was launched on 10 September.

There have also been a number of positive reviews of My Learn to Swim posted on the App Store.

SunnyMum76 wrote: “Kids love it. Find it useful to understand what they should be achieving at each stage as well. Good information.”

Curly_29 added: “I absolutely love this app.

“The visual of the awards are outstanding and having easy access to the current awards are handy. Being able to see the details and information for each award is something I’ve not had to hand before.”

And Ducklingsinarow commented: “The little one loves taking photos with his latest unlocked animals and stickers – and hopefully it’ll keep him excited to go swimming this term.”

Josh Hardy, Swim England My Learn to Swim app lead, said he was delighted so many people were already enjoying the benefits of the app.

“It’s been great to see the wonderful comments and photos from everyone who has downloaded the app and is loving the interactive elements of it,” said Josh.

“The app makes learning to swim even more fun and we hope many more people will enjoy sharing their swimming achievements and pictures.”

My Learn to Swim is now available on the App Store and Google Play for FREE.
