Bracknell and Wokingham Swimming Club raise thousands with easyfundraising

Bracknell and Wokingham Swimming Club have raised thousands of pounds through their members and supporters shopping online with easyfundraising.

The club have been successfully fundraising while shopping from home over the past six years.

Chairman Terry Wright says he would ‘definitely recommend’ other clubs give it a go.

He said: “Over the last three years, we have raised more than £5,000 just through our supporters shopping online.

“We have no sponsor so other than member fees, there is no other income like this.

“We’ve put the money raised towards repairing swimming lanes, paying for advertising and headsets for our swimmers.

“Future funds will go towards further headsets so they can be used without sharing.

“We would definitely recommend that other clubs use the benefit that easyfundraising provides.”

Club supporters, staff, coaches and members can generate free donations for their club simply by shopping online with their favourite retailers like Amazon, Sky, Just Eat, Trainline, eBay, Screwfix, M&S and Booking.com.

They can use the easyfundraising website or app to access these retailers and 4,000 others and when purchases are made, the retailer sends your club a free donation at no additional cost.

Christmas Day prize draw

Huge donations can also be won for your aquatics clubs by entering the Christmas Day prize draw.

There is a Christmas Day Grand Prize of a £2,000 donation and a £2,000 John Lewis & Partners gift card up for grabs.

To enter, simply visit the easyfundraising website and click to open the remaining advent calendar windows each day.

For every day you open a new window there is also a chance to win a £250 donation for your club, with more than £5,000 being won so far.

If you ask all your members to enter every day, you’ll increase your club’s chances of winning and easyfundraising have provided some ready-written social posts and emails to tell your club community.

The competition is open to all, so if your aquatics club isn’t using easyfundraising yet, make sure you sign up so you can enter too.
