Brian Havill appointed Chief Financial Officer

Brian Havill has been appointed Swim England Chief Financial Officer.

Jane Nickerson, Swim England CEO, said: “I am delighted to announce that Brian Havill has been appointed Swim England Chief Financial Officer.

“Brian has been interim CFO since late last summer and following a robust interview process, has today been confirmed in the role on a permanent basis.

“He will continue to head-up the Swim England Finance, Legal and IT teams, and I look forward to working with him to support our development towards a well-governed, financially sustainable organisation.”

Brian moved to Swim England from the England and Wales Cricket Board where he spent 15 years as Finance Director and Company Secretary. Before then, he was the Commercial Director for Pentland Sports Group and Chief Operating Officer for Hi-Tec Sports International.

In a voluntary capacity, Brian spent six years on the Council of the Lawn Tennis Association, including as vice-chair of the LTA’s Performance Committee. Brian is also member of the Audit Committee of the Sport and Recreation Alliance.

Delighted to be taking on the role

Brian said: “I have thoroughly enjoyed the last few months and am delighted to be taking on the role permanently.”

Mike Farrar, Chairman of the Swim England Group Board, added: “I am delighted with this appointment. Brian will be a very strong member of the Senior Leadership Team and brings a wealth of experience with him that will be of great benefit as we move forward with implementing our strategy, Towards a Nation Swimming.”

Brian takes on the role with immediate effect.
