Swim England appoints Sport:80 to build new membership platform

Swim England is pleased to share that we’ve appointed UK-based digital specialists Sport:80 to build our brand-new membership management platform. This is a big step forward in improving how we support our members, clubs and volunteers, and in creating a more connected digital experience across all our sports.

We’ve heard so many of your experiences at our national roadshows, as part of the Listening Report and many more occasions in the past 12 months. You told us you want simpler processes, better-connected systems and membership that feels easier to understand and manage. This project is a direct response to that feedback, and we truly appreciate everyone who took the time to get involved.

Whether you are in the water, on the side of the pool, supporting from the stands, or behind the scenes, we are dedicated to making your experience as seamless and enjoyable as possible, providing the resources, support and guidance you need to succeed and thrive, so you can focus on what you do best.

The digital experience is at the heart of this, and we appreciate how important it is that our digital systems feel easy to use, dependable and supportive for everyone who depends on them.

A platform designed for now and the future

The Sport:80 platform will help us to better serve and support members and clubs across the country. One of our key goals for this project is to reduce the administrative pressures on volunteers, as well as creating foundations for and improving the experience of all members and clubs. We appreciate that the current experience isn’t good enough, and this is a key project in working to address this.

Working with Sport:80, the new platform will serve as the central system for all things membership and clubs for Swim England. This includes managing your personal and your club’s memberships, a more connected club affiliation process, easier handling of qualifications, workshops, event entries and more.

It will also introduce tools designed to make everyday tasks easier, including digital IDs, more automated email communications, a central resource hub, and integrations with swimmingresults.org and the DBS platform.

Part of wider digital improvements

This work sits alongside other improvements already underway, including easier access to verified swim times through our new Rankings API and a refreshed Swim England website in 2027. All these updates are designed to make our digital services clearer, faster and more user-friendly.

We’re working towards launching the new platform in autumn 2026, helping to support participation, reduce admin for volunteers and create a smoother experience for everyone involved in our sports. We’ll continue to share updates on our website and through our monthly newsletters as the project progresses.
