It’s the first time the awards will be held in person since 2019 due to the pandemic.

Nominations are now open for the Swim England National Awards and are presented for the following seven categories.

  • Swim England Sport Club of the Year
  • Swim England Volunteer of the Year
  • Swim England Youth Volunteer of the Year
  • Swim England Technical Officer of the Year
  • Swim England Coach of the Year
  • Swim England Youth Champion of the Year
  • Swim England Spirit of Aquatics

There also several other awards that will be given out at the ceremony. These are the Swim England Breakthrough Athlete of the Year award, the Spirit of the Commonwealth Games award Harold Fern and Alfred H Turner award.

The artistic swimming or water polo athlete that has produced the most outstanding results and shown world class potential throughout the last year will be awarded the Breakthrough Athlete of the Year award.

A new award for the Spirit of the Commonwealth Games award will be given to the athlete that exceeds expectations and goes above and beyond at this year’s games.

The Harold Fern and Alfred H Turner award recognises an individual or organisation that has made the most outstanding contribution to aquatics at any level.

‘Recognising those that go extra mile’

On the awards, Claire Coleman, Swim England head of development, said: “This awards ceremony is a great way to acknowledge the incredible work shown by members of the aquatics community.

“So many people throughout our sports prove their hard work and dedication day-in and day-out so it’s important that we recognise those who go the extra mile.

“I’m looking forward to having the awards back in person and in front of the Swim England family so we can celebrate our winners together.”

Nominations open 1 June and close on 31 July. Nominees must be currently registered as Swim England members.
