
Swim England opens nominations for National Awards 2025
2 June 2025Swim England is delighted to announce that nominations are now open for the Swim England National Awards 2025.
The annual ceremony is a highlight of the Swim England calendar, recognising and celebrating the outstanding achievements, dedication, and passion of the aquatics community across the country.
This year’s awards will honour contributions of the past year across a variety of categories, spanning clubs, coaches, teachers and volunteers, inclusion, health and more.
The winners will be revealed at the ceremony on Saturday 29 November at the University of Birmingham.
Nominations are open until Sunday 6 July 2025 and will incorporate a range of awards which will be regionally and nationally shortlisted. This year’s categories have been divided into three sections and are as follows:
Section one – regionally shortlisted awards: Nominations shortlisted by Swim England Regions, with regional winners progressing to the National Awards ceremony.
- Sport Club of the Year (one per aquatic discipline)
- Volunteer of the Year (26 and over)
- Young Volunteer of the Year (14-25 years old)
- Technical Official of the Year
- Participation and Community Coach of the Year
- Children/Age Group Coach of the Year
- Talent Development Coach of the Year
Section two – long service awards: Shortlisted by Regions with the Swim England Sport Operations Committee determining the winners.
- Harold Fern Award
- Alfred H Turner Award
Section three – nationally shortlisted awards: winners to be determined by the relevant Swim England judging panels.
- Performance Coach of the Year
- Coach Mentor or Coach Developer of the Year
- Swimming Teacher of the Year
- Swim School of the Year
- Health Impact Award
- School Swimming Award
- Educator of the Year
- Swim England Aquatics For All Award
- Swim England Pioneering Pool Operator Award
Speaking on the launch of nominations, Swim England Chief Executive, Andy Salmon, said: “The Swim England National Awards are a celebration of the people and places that bring aquatics to life.
“Whether it’s a young volunteer, a dedicated coach, or a club that’s the heart of its community, these awards are about recognising the people and organisations that provide great experiences and make our sports thrive.
“The opening of nominations marks the perfect way to kick off Volunteers’ Week, and I encourage everyone to take a moment to nominate someone who has inspired them.”
