National Curriculum training for school swimming teaching

1st May 2014

The National Curriculum Training Programme (NCTP) is a scheme to improve the quality of swimming teaching in schools. If you’re involved with swimming in primary schools, you shouldn’t miss out.

The NCTP has been developed to deliver the right training to teachers and assistants to ensure school children receive the best quality aquatics education.

As part of the NCTP, teachers receive the Certificate for Teaching School Swimming (Key Stages 1 and 2) and experience theory and practical sessions that show how best to deliver school swimming.

The NCTP is open to anyone working within a primary school swimming programme, such as school teachers, classroom assistants, learning support staff, nursery nurses, qualified swimming teachers, parents, other helpers etc. In addition students involved in initial teacher training may also attend. Cost per candidate for each of the modules is as follows:

  2. Module 2 - Maximum 12 candidates, £30 per candidate
  3. Modules 1 & 2 combined - Maximum 12 candidates, £50 per candidate

Please note, these prices are approximate. Actual costings may vary to reflect pool/venue costs.
