Swim England Teaching and Education Awards and Conference

The Swim England Teaching and Education Awards and Conference is a superb, annual conference bringing together more than +350 people to network and discuss key topics relating to swimming.

The UK’s largest event for the swimming workforce

Developed between Swim England’s Learn to Swim experts and educator workforce, the conference aims to inspire teachers delivering the Learn to Swim Programme, tutors, CPD presenters, assessors, approved training centres and anyone delivering school swimming and water safety.

Where?

This year’s conference venue is the newly refurbished voco St. John’s hotel in Solihull in the West Midlands.

It’s purpose built and well designed conference facilities are the perfect setting – and within easy reach from all areas of the country.

Join us for an evening of fun and excitment, honouring the very best of our swimming workforce in the UK.

We’ll kick things off with a drinks reception from 6pm, followed by a pre-dinner speaker, a three course evening meal and the awards presentations.

There are six awards categories, including Swim England Educator of the Year and Swim England Swimming Teacher of the Year. The nominations window for the 2019 awards is now closed, but you can still view information about each of the categories here.

Where do I go on arrival?

Make your way to the conference centre entrance where Swim England colleagues will be there to greet you and guide you to registration.

What accessibility is available?

Ramps and a lift are available to access workshop rooms, and a hearing loop is available for those who need it.

What if the workshop I’d like to book is full?

Workshops are available on a first come first served basis. Options may be limited if you do not book early.

What if I don’t remember which workshops I selected?

On your confirmation email the workshops you have chosen will be listed. Workshop information will also be included in your conference programme and name lanyard.

What if I’d like to change the workshops I have selected?

The workshops you have chosen at the time of booking will be allocated to you and we’re unable to make changes. Each workshop will have limited seating for the specified total of delegates booked onto each workshop.

What if I have a dietary requirement?

The venue restaurant are equipped to cater for any dietary requirement so there will be something available for all.

Will Swim England teams be there on the day?

Members of Swim England Educator Training, Learn to Swim and Swim England Qualifications teams will be in attendance.

Will I be able to provide feedback on the day?

We value all feedback, so after the event you’ll be emailed an online survey covering all aspects of the conference. We encourage everyone to complete this to make sure future events can be tailored to your needs.

Will I get the chance to ask questions on the day?

Swim England colleagues will be available throughout the day. There will also be an opportunity to ask live questions. Further information will be given on the day.

What can I share on social media about the conference?

We would love you to share your experiences of the day on your own social media feeds – whether on Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, Snapchat etc. Use the hashtag #SwimConf in all your posts. You can tag in @Swim_England on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and Swim England – and of course any of the keynote speakers. You can also share your pictures from the day.

I need to cancel my place. Can I receive a refund?

If you cancel your booking before midnight 1 October 2019, a 50 percent refund will be issued. After this time no refunds will be issued.

Early bird pricing is only available until 9 August, after which delegates will be charged the standard price.

There is a further 10 percent discount available for members of the Institute of Swimming and also Swim England Swim School members, off the early bird day rate.
