ASA Foundation Framework
The British Gas ASA Learn to Swim Pathway is the overarching programme for Learn to Swim.
The ASA Foundation Framework provides the first part of the Pathway and promotes early water confidence and basic motor skills.
An important point to note is that learn to swim providers using the existing NPTS can continue to do so, as the outcomes and recommendations around delivery style for this Framework have not changed. They now form part of the extended Learn to Swim Pathway.

These three stages of the Foundation Framework underpin the next 10 stages in the Learn to Swim and Aquatic Skills Frameworks. They are also linked to the Early Years Foundation Curriculum for Child Development.
