Qualifications
Visit this section for full details of all of the qualifications and courses accredited by the ASA including Teaching Aquatics, Coaching Diving, Coaching Swimming, Coaching Synchronised Swimming and Coaching Water Polo. These qualifications have been developed by the ASA to meet UK Coaching Certificate (UKCC) standards and currently range from Levels 1-3. Also details of other courses such as Aquatic Fitness, Disabilities, Helper courses, Adult & Child and National Curriculum Training Programme.
Aquatic Fitness Endorsed Training Awards
Exercise in water is commonly acknowledged as a widely accessible activity that provides good cardio vascular and muscular exercise for all with minimal risk of injury. As well as being one of the top activities to help achieve the Government’s recommendation to exercise five times a week, swimming and water-based workouts are being recognised by elite sportsmen and women as a means of complementing their training, regeneration and rehabilitation.
Aqua Jogging
This course provides instructors with the skills to design and deliver safe, effective, quality balanced Aqua Jogging programmes and to evaluate the effectiveness of an Aqua Jogging group session.
Aqua Fit
This course provides instructors with the skills to deliver safe, effective, quality balanced, enjoyable Aqua Fit programmes and to evaluate the effectiveness of an Aqua Exercise to Music group session. The course delivery is based on the flexible ‘blended learning’ method, which combines advanced home study and a number of practical workshops which will build on the core skills and qualifications you have already achieved in exercise & fitness at Level 2 (see entry requirements below).
Fitness Swimming
This course provides instructors with the skills to design and deliver safe, effective, quality balanced Fitness Swimming programmes and evaluate the effectiveness of a Fitness Swimming Group Session.
Aqua Circuits
This course provides instructors with the skills to design and deliver safe, effective, quality balanced Aqua Circuits programmes and to evaluate the effectiveness of an Aqua Circuits group session.
